Codan Communications Appoints Scott French, New President and Executive General Manager of Land Mobile Radio Division

Codan Communications, a leading international designer and manufacturer of premium communication solutions, announced today that Scott French has been appointed the new President of the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) division. French comes to Codan Communications, a division of Codan Limited (ASX-CDA), with a wealth of experience gained from almost 30 years with world-class organisations such as Motorola, Panasonic, and Zetron.

Scott French, President and Executive General Manager of Codan Communications, LMR said: “I’m honored at being chosen to lead a company that contributes to the advancement of public safety systems and solutions. Codan Communications’, formerly Daniels Electronics, decades of experience coupled with engineering excellence provides the foundation by which we will grow.”

During his time at Motorola, French made the transition from engineering to overall go-to-market leadership for several lines of business, helping to transform Motorola into a solutions provider beyond LMR. At Panasonic, he led the company transformation from product to solutions sales with a focus on mobile devices and security, before assuming the role of General Manager, Americas for two years with Zetron, a command and control company.

While at Motorola and Panasonic, Scott also served as Vice Chairman on the state and local board of directors of TechAmerica (now CompTIA), and was also the Chair of the State & Local Government and Education Executive Council of IT Alliance for Public Sector. Both organizations focused on enabling and providing access to technology to help evolve the public sector to better serve their constituents.

French holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, and undertook MBA studies with a focus on leadership at Loyola University Maryland.
